Description
The student's father passed away in 2019 and her mother has been making ends meet running a flower shop near a temple. The student is the eldest of three daughters. Her younger sisters are in Classes 12 and 8. She wants to set a good example for them by taking up higher education, which will guarantee a job to support the family.
The income from the flower shop varies every day and, due to COVID restrictions, there have been added troubles. On a good day, the shop makes about Rs. 500 but with temples being closed on some days, the profits are rather sparse. The maternal grandfather, who lives nearby, offers some support but the student has not been able to raise enough money to pay her college fees after securing admission in a B.Com course.
